The Business Information Center (BIC) was established to help small businesses survive the light rail construction phase and thrive into the future.  University Avenue Business Association (UABA) hosts the BIC.  Partners include Asian Economic Development Association (AEDA), Center for Energy and the Environment, Hamline University School of Business, U-PLAN Community Planning Studio, U7, University UNITED, William Mitchell Community Development Clinic, and Xcel Energy

UABA Business Information Center will provide the following free services:

• Small business consulting:  multilingual assistance and information about light rail construction disruption, business support funding, and how to prepare for the construction phase including documentation of tax records, business plans, financial planning, and employee concerns
• Faculty & Interns / volunteers from Hamline University School of Business
• Community Partners
• Referrals

• Legal Service Center: information, consultations and extended representation on a variety of legal issues (business / construction mitigation rights, property tax / property rights, landlord / tenants rights, leases and sales)
• Services provided by William Mitchell Community Development Clinic faculty, certified student attorneys, volunteer law students, and attorneys
• Attorney referrals available (pro bono and alternative fee options)                

• Energy efficiency / sustainability information and programs to help decrease utility costs            
• Center for Energy and the Environment (CEE)
• Xcel Energy
• local environmental groups
